COURSE DESCRIPTION
This inaugural event of AAPP’s Pediatric Division features three leading pediatric pain doctors from various backgrounds and training, including psychology, pediatrics, social work, integrative medicine, and behavioral medicine. Hailing from three different organizations – UCSF’s Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care Clinic, the Stanford Pediatric Pain Clinic, and UCSF’s Osher Center for Integrative Medicine – the speakers present on inter- and multi-disciplinary models of care, the importance of cross-discipline collaboration, and modern treatment paradigms for youth with chronic pain and illness. This workshop explores different approaches to pediatric pain management offered by some of the world’s leading clinics, raises awareness of current issues in pediatric pain, and explores the inner workings of successful treatment programs.
